POLICIES
General Studio Policies
Aura Studio is broken into two areas: the waiting room (the front desk area) and the studio (where classes take place).
Behind the desk is off limits to everyone besides Aura Instructors.
Kneaded Massage Therapy is also located in the front entrance area. This is a private business and is off-limits.
All communications will be sent to the primary email address on file. We use email as our primary communication between staff and dance families. Please use email as your main form of communicating with us. Social Media messaging should be limited.
The parent/guardian is responsible for updating all student information should anything change. Please email dance@aurastudiopv.com if your child’s information changes.
The studio is busy with both adult and children's classes daily. Please be respectful of the building, other individuals, and the instructors' time.
If you have a question for the instructor that will take longer than a few minutes, please email dance@aurastudiopv.com to schedule a meeting to allow the appropriate time.
We have zero tolerance for inappropriate behaviour, bullying, and/or harassment towards staff, clients, other children and/or other parents/guardians. Anything brought to our attention will result in asking the individual to refrain from entering the building and/or being pulled from dance.
To protect the privacy of each individual, no photography and/or video are to be taken unless permission is given.
Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an authorized adult at all times until they are in the studio with their instructor for the class. Students under the age of 6 who are waiting for their pickup will be asked to wait in the studio so the instructor has eyes on them at all times (this is why on-time pickup or letting staff know you’ll be late is crucial).
Aura Studio is located in a busy area. Please speak to your child about the safety of waiting for their pickup. No child should be standing outside the studio waiting for their pickup, regardless of age and time of year.
Class Policies
A minimum of 4 dancers are required in each class unless approved by the owner. Any class under this minimum may result in combining with another class or being removed from the schedule.
Students are expected to arrive on time for class. If you know your child will be late, please email the studio before class starts.
Aura Studio is not a daycare facility. Please ensure that you or the authorized adult picking up the dancers is on time. If you’re running behind or know you will be late, please inform the instructor at drop-off.
No cell phones, gum, food, drinks (besides water), and/or outside footwear are permitted inside the studio. Anyone who enters the building MUST remove their shoes at the door, this includes parents, guardians and siblings.
To help keep the entrance clear, please put all outdoor shoes on the provided shoe rack and hang up any jackets and/or sweaters on the wall hooks.
All dance bags or other items will be placed under the bench during class.
We ask that everyone clean up after themselves in the waiting area. Having a snack before or in between classes is encouraged (as we don’t want dancers' energy low) however, messes are not.
Aura Studio is a safe, welcoming and respectful environment. We expect all dancers to respect the instructor, each student, and the studio. Continuous disrespectful behaviour will be addressed if needed.
No hanging on the barres, touching the mirrors or touching the fitness equipment in the studio.
For the younger dancers, please ensure your child has gone to the washroom BEFORE their class begins. There is only one instructor for each class ranging from 1-10 dancers.
No running and/or horseplay is allowed in the entrance, hallway, bathroom and/or studio.
Dance is not something that should be forced if the individual does not want to participate. With that, if your child does not listen/cooperate with the instructor and is showing signs of disinterest, the instructor may ask your child to sit out for the remainder of class or until they’re ready to participate again. We will communicate with the parent/guardian if this happens.
Parents are asked to drop off their child and either quietly wait at the entrance or leave the studio and return at the designated time. We do not allow anyone to sit and observe inside the class.
Class Cancellation Policy
Aura Dance follows Garden Valley School Division for class cancellations.
Aura Studio is closed on statutory holidays (unless otherwise communicated).
If the school division cancels classes the morning of due to weather, Aura Dance will also cancel classes (unless weather conditions improve).
If weather conditions deteriorate through the day without school cancellations, a decision will be made by the studio head and communicated to parents by 2:00 pm via e-mail that day.
Students who are sick should not attend class. Please email dance@aurastudiopv.com if your child is not able to attend.
There are no refunds for any and all cancelled classes.
Cancellation Policy
Class change (within the same age group) is permitted until October 31st.
Class cancellation is permitted until November 30th with a refund (for Pay in Full payments only).
Refunds are the total tuition and tax paid minus $15 for every class run and a $15 administration fee.
There are no refunds for monthly tuition payments.
Any cancellations starting December 1st will be non-refundable, including the costume deposit.
