Should I Bring Anything?

First and foremost - bring water. Whether you sweat in class or not, your body is still working and needs to stay hydrated!

Barre Fitness: bring your grip socks.

Dance Fusion, Open Choreo & Spin: bring comfortable indoor runners. Please ensure they are clean to avoid tracking dirt into our studio.

I’m pregnant. Can I still take Class?

(please consult with your doctor/ob-gyn before starting a new workout while expecting.)

Barre: Absolutely! In fact, barre is an excellent prenatal & postnatal workout. As always, get the okay from your doctor first to ensure you're okay to work out.

Also, we ask that you let your instructor know (don’t worry, we’ll keep it a secret if it’s not public). As you progress in your pregnancy, it’s important to make adjustments to your movements that are pregnancy-safe.

Our barre instructor is trained in pre/postnatal fitness! We also offer Baby Got Barre, our designated barre class for expecting and newly postpartum individuals.

Dance Fusion & Open Choreo: Please use caution. You should be able to talk while working out to ensure your heart rate stays at an appropriate level for you. Please drink plenty of water, take breaks and avoid any twisting or jumping movements.

Spin: Please use caution. Spin is an excellent cardio workout that is low-impact. As always, watch your heart rate. You should be able to maintain a conversation during your workout.

It’s my first class. What do I do?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so the instructor can go through the basics so you know what to expect.

Classes are located in our beautiful studio. Upon entering, remove your shoes! Bags & jackets can get left on or under the bench at the entrance. Proceed to the studio in the back.

To avoid taking up valuable space in the studio, please only bring yourself and water into the actual studio space.

Is there a dress code?

Comfort and confidence come before style - wear whatever you want that allows you to move and stretch.

I have an injury. Can I still take class?

Barre: Since barre is a low-impact workout, it’s typically very effective for those with injuries. However, we are not your doctor. Please speak with your family doctor first and get the okay. Make sure to let your instructor know before class so we can make modifications for you.

We do bend our knees frequently. If you have any knee injuries, please be aware.

Dance Fusion, Open Choreo & Spin: Speak with your doctor beforehand, or wait until you have healed before attending class.

Is there an age limit?

Yes, Aura Fitness is for adults (18+). For those under the age limit, please see our Aura Dance program for our dance seasons. We want your group classes to be a time for you. We like to listen to adult music and cannot guarantee every song is appropriate for children.

Why Are Grip Socks Mandatory for Barre?

Grip socks prevent you from sliding around on the floor. We spend a lot of time on the balls of the foot, so protection is essential to prevent you from slipping.

Couldn’t We Just Wear Runners for Barre?

You could for some of the moves, but not for everything. With grip socks, your feet have more freedom to move around (rising onto the ball of the foot and pointing your toes). There’s a reason behind our madness.

Is Barre a ballet class? I can’t dance!

No dance experience is necessary for this workout. Even though barre comes from Ballet exercises, you don’t need any dance experience to take a class. Barre Fitness is not a dance class.

Warning - you may feel like a ballerina throughout class.
